How to Package Your Exchange in your CV?

Now that you’ve finished your AIESEC exchange, you’re most likely back with lots of learning, new friends and amazing stories which you will probably tell again and again for quite some time. But aside from this, you are also back with a big advantage. Whether you went on a professional or volunteer internship, you can package your experience to make you stand out amongst your peers especially in front of employers.

Surveys and trends show that more and more companies and organisations look for experience in hiring more than academic background. It is not surprising since these experiences demonstrate how you are able to apply knowledge and skills in the real world setting and even develop further. We listed below some steps you can take on how you can write your AIESEC exchange experience down on paper.

What information should you include?

  1. Include the name of the organisation, your title and the duration of the placement. Emphasize the country in which you had this internship as international experience is something you would want to highlight.

  2. Outline your duties and responsibilities, and what are the direct results and impact from it (add numbers to prove your point and to help put it into context)

  3. Highlight the skills that you may have gained during this period.

  4. Always tailor your CV to each company and job role you are applying for. Emphasise the placements and skills most appropriate to each role.
